Podcasting Shoutout by Stone Cold Steve Austin

The WWE recently had what they billed as “the largest reunion in Monday Night Raw history.” The special episode on the USA Network, entitled “Raw Reunion,” climaxed with Stone Cold Steve Austin in the ring, giving a speech that concluded with a toast. During his remarks, Austin noted what the whirlwind 24 hours had been like, in terms of all the activity with former superstars, and mentioned that within that time they “recorded a podcast.” In June his weekly podcast, “The Steve Austin Show,” had returned from a six-month hiatus (during which old episodes were re-aired and billed as “Classics”). His first podcast back gained more than a million downloads. Austin now has a new TV show at 11pm (Eastern Time) on Monday night immediately following “Raw.” “Straight Up Steve Austin” was perhaps spawned from the success of his podcast, since despite other activities woven into the 30-minute show, it’s essentially him ‘interviewing’ his guest.
